Say what your Google account does
What is kept behind that one address, and why the phone keeps asking for it.
Your Google account is one email address and one password. Contacts, pictures, calendar and apps are kept there, not in the phone.
Sign in to a new phone with the same address and all of it comes back.
Key points
- One address and one password hold your contacts, pictures, calendar and apps
- A new phone signed in to it already knows you
What to remember
- The phone is the window. The account is the room.
- The handset shows your contacts. The account keeps them.
Try this
Open Settings on your own phone and find the row showing your Google address. Check you know that password.
