Read the bar along the bottom
Tell what is already open from the bar along the edge of the screen.
The strip along the bottom of a Windows screen is the taskbar. A Mac calls it the dock.
It does two jobs: it starts programs, and it shows which are running.
Key points
- The taskbar, or dock, starts programs and shows what is running
- A line or dot under a name means it is already open
What to remember
- A small line under a name means it is already open.
- The bar lists what is open, and the way back to each.
Try this
Count how many names in your own bottom bar are marked as open.
