Make a list readable
Widen a column full of hashes, make the headings look like headings, and keep them in view as the list grows.
You could write all this on the back of an envelope, and people do. The reason to put it in columns is that a computer can only add up a stripe. Give it a stripe, and it will do arithmetic for you for the rest of your life without complaint.
