What all those folders are
What every folder down the side is for, and which of them can be safely ignored.
You sent something on Tuesday and now you cannot find it, and there is a column of names down the side of the screen that you have never read properly. Every one of those names is a place, not a rule, and the thing you sent is sitting in one of them.

What to remember
- These same six names, in this same order, are on every mail program made in the last twenty years.
- Nothing in email is ever in a place you cannot get to. There are six places, and you have now seen them all.
- Not junk does two jobs: it moves this message, and it teaches the mail about the next one.
