When a delivery never came
Work through a missing package in the right order.
When a delivery does not show up, the useful move is to work in a fixed order rather than to start making phone calls.
First, check the tracking and read what it actually says. There is a real difference between out for delivery, delivered, and no scan for three days. Each one means a different next step.
Second, if it says delivered, look in the places carriers use. Behind a screen door, with a neighbor, at a front office, or a photo in the tracking that shows a door you recognize.
Third, if it still is not there, contact the store rather than the carrier. Your agreement is with the store. The store is the one that has to make it right, and they deal with the carrier for you.
Only after the store gives you nothing does a card dispute come into it. Doing that first usually stalls the store from helping.
Key points
- Read the tracking before you do anything else.
- Delivered means look nearby first.
- No scan for days means it stalled somewhere.
- Contact the store, not the carrier.
- A card dispute is a later step, not a first one.
What to remember
- Tracking first, then the store, in that order.
- Missing package problems go to the store, every time.
- Silent tracking is a reason to contact the store, not a reason to keep waiting.
Try this
Open your most recent order and read its tracking history line by line, so you know what normal looks like before something goes wrong.
