The nearest pharmacy that is open now
Find somewhere open on a Sunday evening, with the phone number and the walk already worked out.
Searching for "pharmacy" gives you every pharmacy for miles, in order of distance, most of them closed. Turning on Open now gives you a list you can actually walk into.
It is one switch, and it is on nearly every map and directory there is. Almost nobody uses it, which is why so many people set off hopefully at six o’clock on a Sunday.
Key points
- Turn on Open now and stop walking to closed stores
- Spot the supermarket trap — store open, pharmacy counter closed
- Call ahead to ask whether they have it in stock
- Use a drugstore’s own store finder when a trip makes hours strange
What to remember
- Open now is a filter, not a search. It hides the closed ones rather than finding different ones.
- A map answers the question you asked. Adding "open now" is asking a better one.
- ZIP code, search, filter, choose. Almost every "find me a service near here" page in America works this way.
Try this
Search for pharmacies near you on your own phone and find the Open now switch. Turning it on once and seeing the list shrink is the whole lesson.
