Read a connection timed out message
That a timeout is slowness rather than refusal, and what to do about it.
Timed out means your device asked, waited a set number of seconds, and stopped waiting. The answer was too slow.
There is a stopwatch behind every request. Nothing is broken when it runs out.
Key points
- Timed out means your device gave up waiting for a reply
- A weak signal or a busy site causes most of them, and asking again often works
What to remember
- One retry beats anything else you could press.
- Timed out means too slow, not gone.
Try this
Next time a page times out, count slowly to sixty and reload it once.
