Say what a passkey is
What a passkey is, and why there is nothing about it to give away.
A passkey puts your device in place of a password. Unlock the phone with your face, thumb or PIN, and the site opens.
No word to remember, and none to give away, because the key never leaves the phone.
Key points
- Your device proves who you are, in place of a password
- No word to remember, and nothing anybody can talk you into saying
What to remember
- Nothing to type is nothing to hand over.
- A passkey cannot be handed over, because it cannot be said.
Try this
Look in your email account’s security settings for the word passkey. Finding it is enough.
