Downloads: the folder everything lands in
Always know where a thing you downloaded has gone, and how to get back to it.
When you press Download — a bank statement, a form from the city, a photograph a friend has sent — it goes into a folder called Downloads. Every computer has one, and it is always in the same place.

What to remember
- Sort Downloads by date with the newest at the top, and whatever you have just fetched is the first thing on the list.
- When something has vanished, look in Downloads before you look anywhere else. It is right about eight times out of ten.
Try this
Open your Downloads folder and sort it by date with the newest at the top. Have a look. Most people find the thing they went hunting for last month sitting near the top, and had no idea it was ever there.
