Favorites: the two-second habit
One place holding only the photographs you actually care about, built up two seconds at a time.
Out of every hundred photographs on a phone, perhaps four are worth showing anybody. The trouble is that all hundred sit in the same list, so the four are effectively hidden.
The heart is the fix, and it is close to effortless. Press it while you are looking at a good one, and that picture is added to an album called Favorites. You have made a shortlist without setting aside any time to make a shortlist.
Key points
- Press the heart on a photograph worth keeping, in one second
- Find every hearted picture gathered in the Favorites album
- Take one back out again by pressing the heart a second time
- Play the whole shortlist as a slideshow
What to remember
- The heart is on every photograph, on every phone, in the row underneath.
- Hearting costs nothing, moves nothing, and can be undone. There is no reason to be sparing with it.
- Favorites lives in Albums, near the top. It fills itself.
Try this
Open the last twenty photographs on your phone and heart any you would happily show somebody. It will probably be two or three. That is the habit, and it takes under a minute.
