The four shortcuts worth knowing
Copy, paste, undo and select everything without going near a menu.
Hold Ctrl and press one letter. C copies, V pastes, Z undoes, A selects everything.
On a Mac, hold Command instead. They do what the menu does, and the menu is still there.
