Know what downloading does
Download something and then find it again.
Downloading copies something from a website onto your own machine. The original stays there; you now have your own copy.
It lands in a folder called Downloads, whether or not anything says so.
Key points
- Downloading makes your own copy on your own machine
- It lands in Downloads unless you choose somewhere else
What to remember
- Downloads is where things land unless you say otherwise.
- A download keeps working when the website does not.
Try this
Open your Downloads folder and read the list. Nearly everything you ever fetched is still in it.
