Make every word on your screen a comfortable size, without anything running off the edge.

People try to make a screen readable, end up with everything blurry and half the window off the edge, and conclude the computer is against them. It is not — they used the wrong one of three controls.

What to remember

• 125% suits most people over sixty. 150% is generous and still perfectly usable.
• Put resolution back to whatever says (Recommended), then use scale instead. Sharpness returns immediately.
• Text size and scale can be used together. Try scale first, then add text size if the words are still small.
