Make the screen comfortable
Set the text size, brightness and contrast on your own device until reading it takes no effort.
A great many people put up with text that is too small for years, because nobody ever told them it could be changed.
Every computer, tablet and phone made in the last fifteen years can make the text bigger, the screen brighter and the writing darker against its background. It takes about thirty seconds, and it uses nothing up.
You can make a single web page bigger without going into settings at all. Two keys do it.
Key points
- Text size, contrast and brightness are all adjustable on every device
- Ctrl+ + and Ctrl+ - resize any web page instantly
- Lantern has all of these settings too — look for the person icon, then Settings
- Comfort is not an indulgence; it is how you avoid getting tired and giving up
What to remember
- If a screen is uncomfortable, that is a setting rather than a fact of life.
- Every browser on every computer does this. It is worth committing to memory.
Try this
Open Settings in Lantern and slide the text size up until reading this takes no effort at all.
